Hello!
I am new to this whole blogging thing, so this should be an experience. I guess I should tell you a little abuot myself. I teach 7th and 9th grade math at Dayton High School. I have taught there for 4 years. Teaching is a second career for me. I worked in banking for about 12 years before deciding to make a change. I have an 11 yr old son and 2 dogs. I love sports, especially basketball. I coached high school girls for 2 years and am in the middle of my 2nd year coaching my son's team. I am definately looking forward to March Madness, Go Big Blue!!

Dayton is a great school, I knw one of the special education teachers there. I also am a huge fan of March Maddness and really look forward to supporting the CATS as they hopefully win this year. :) Glad to see someone in the class with this in common. I look forward to talking more during the class.
ReplyDeleteHello- great to see you here- we have some math folks in the class so hopefully you can exchange ideas. I also like that you come at this from a different perspective having been in the business world first. I guess we will be watching March Madness together- I too am a big college basketball fan- my dad is a Duke alumni and my husband is a Syracuse fan but my son is a big fan- we go to UC games a lot. Glad to have you in the class.
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteHello. I am so happy that we have some of the same classes again. I did not know that teaching is a second career for you and that your first career was banking. That is exactly the same as my situation. I was in banking for 14 years before being able to go back to school to get my teaching certificate. I am so glad I did! I look forward to another great semester.

Amy,
ReplyDeleteI was happy to see a familar name on the class list. We were in EDG-602 together last semester. I'm new to all this technology stuff as well. I'm really nervous to say the least. I must admit, I'm having fun now that I've gotten started! Oh, and Rock on BIG BLUE!

I sort of feel like I have had 2 careers as well. Teaching first grade for 12 years, being a “mommy” for 10 years, and now collecting and assessing data certainly keeps life interesting. I have a lot of bankers and teachers in my family so we seem to have a lot in common. Also did I mention...”GO BIG BLUE”? Love UK Wildcats!!
